Our story

Cedar:
In March of 2022, I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (LLS). But it wasn’t just me that was diagnosed—it was my family, too. Each time I went in for a treatment, a small part of them did, too. They felt my fatigue, my pain, and my loss. But they also felt my joy as I slowly recovered my strength and gained my life back.

As team ConneLLS for a CURE, we will be helping other patients and families affected by cancer do the same by raising funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Our vision is to help fund effective, safe treatments that target cancer precisely without harming the rest of the child’s body.

Posey:

Through the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), Cedar and I have been given the chance to raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer research. We hope to raise $35,000 for this cause, but we can’t do it alone. Our team is pushing for funding for new treatments that don’t involve the devastating side effects of chemotherapy. For my brother, it was chemotherapy that led to his near-death experience. The treatments are harsh, and while they save lives, they also take a toll on young bodies, which is why we need an alternative solution.

As a community we can help, we can raise awareness of the toxicity of the current treatments, raise funds for research and alternative therapies, and we can give hope to families who are living in the same nightmare my family has lived. I’m asking for your help in any way you can—whether through a donation, spreading awareness, or simply learning more about leukemia. Together, we can make a difference.
